many of you already know that eric prescott is fabulous. he is a tireless advocate for animals, a gifted writer, and he is the guiding force behind one of my very favorite AR blogs. what you might not know is that he has taken on a new role–producer of artivist, an international film festival dedicated to addressing human rights, children’s advocacy, animal rights, and environmental preservation.
this year is the third annual artivist, and it will feature four days of film (and famous people, heh). held at the egyptian theatre in hollywood from november 9-12, 2006, this year’s artivist will honor prominent activists daryl hannah, matthew mcconaughey, and joaquin phoenix, among others.
in addition to film screenings (howard lyman will be there, screening mad cowboy) and celebrity sightings, attendees can look forward to learning a whole lot about important social causes and eating some tasty vegan food. what more can you ask? if you’re interested in learning more, you can check out eric’s post about the festival, or peruse the artivist website. it’s a really great project–i wish i could go!
