unexpected

i worked at school tonight, until about 9.30pm.

when i went outside to my car, it was dark, cold, and sleeting. i was kind of hustling along but my car wasn’t very far away from the door, so i made it there quickly. i noticed someone else about 30 yards away, but didn’t pay a lot of attention as i was trying to get home in time for dinner. all of a sudden, i heard a little voice yelling, "i love your license plate!"

my license plate frame says, "practice compassion: go vegan." she must have driven by it or walked by it earlier…? anyway, i was so surprised, but also excited, and i yelled back, "thanks!!"

too bad it was crappy crappy outside, or maybe we could have talked more… but i’ll take what i can get! i am so easily uplifted sometimes.
